The mission results by Minister of Ministry of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang in Turkey and Egypt

A Vietnamese delegation led by Minister of Industry and Trade, Vu Huy Hoang attended sessions of the Joint Committees in Egypt and Turkey from November 2 -12 , 2008.

Vietnam – Turkey: cooperative agreements in all fields

The two sides consented to agree to accelerate negotiations over the signing of agreements on double taxation avoidance and investment encouragement and protection while preparing for negotiations over air and sea transport agreements.

The Turkish side suggested negotiating the air transport agreement during the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Conference in Dubai between November 24 -27 , 2008. The two sides consented to the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Turkey’s Federation of Chambers of Trade and Industry and Goods  Transaction Exchange and cooperation agreement between Turkey’s Standard Agency and Vietnam Standard and Measurement Department and a number of additional agreements relating to culture, sports and tourism. Accelerating comprehensive cooperations between Vietnam and Egypt

At the session of the Vietnam-Egypt Joint Committee in Cairo capital, the Egyptian side made several proposals aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, seafood, renewable energies, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, IT and tourism.

The two sides signed a number of cooperation agreements covering oil and gas, tourism, small-sized business development and the organizsation of forums and fairs. They agreed to continue their  negotiations over the signing of several banking and sea transport cooperation agreements.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Egypt has been increased continuously: reached 60 million US dollars in 2006, 112 million US dollars in 2007, of which Vietnam’s exports to Egypt reached 97 million US dollars consist of computers, electronic components, pepper, coffee and seafood. The two countries expect to raise this figure to 200 million US dollars in 2008 and 500 million US dollars by 2010.
